which are the characteristics of many professional accountants – have helped me finish many races including
10k, half and full marathons, in national and overseas competitions. I truly hope that the sportive spirit of long
distance running can be carried forward to our journey along the “One Belt One Road”.

We are deeply honoured by the presence of Mrs Carrie Lam Cheng Yuet-ngor, the Chief Executive of
the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), Mr Paul Chan Mo-po, the Financial Secretary of
the HKSAR, Mr Tan Tieniu, the Deputy Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People’s Government in
the HKSAR, Mr Shen Chong, the Director General of the Coordination Department of the Central People’s
Government in the HKSAR, Mr Zhao Jiankai, the Deputy Commissioner of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in
the HKSAR, Ms Fung Shuping, the President of Chinese Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CICPA),
and Ms Shao Min, the Deputy Director of Accounting Department of Ministry of Finance at the opening
ceremony, and are extremely thankful for the support given by the Government of HKSAR to this event. We
would also like to thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the CICPA as our principal support and accountants
and tax professionals from Hong Kong, Mainland China, and overseas offering their support to this event.

I would like to express my thanks to co-chairmen of the organizing committee for this event, as well
as the council members of the Society, past presidents, members of the organizing committee and the
Secretariat for the smooth conduct of the event.

Finally, let’s hope that Chinese accountants can unite through the Initiative so that our alliance can grow
along with the success of the Initiative!
